Responsibilities & Activities
The job holder oversees multiple functions covering Planning, Joint Venture, and Development activities while adhering to TotalEnergies’ HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) policies and culture in daily operations.
Planning Activities (Under the supervision of the Senior Planning and Development Engineer)
- Contribute to consolidating technical data for the Long-Term Plan, including defining the scope, preparing planning schedules, and participating in the PRIME exercise and budget preparation.
- Ensure coordination in the preparation of the development strategy for assets.
- Assist in conducting technical-economic assessments to support integrated planning, including drilling sequences, well interventions, and production shutdowns.
- Participate in the annual reassessment of insurance and abandonment costs, supervising studies related to asset abandonment plans if needed.
- Promote optimization strategies to enhance production, extend plateaus, and maximize resource potential.
Joint Venture Activities (Under the supervision of the Senior Planning and Development Engineer)
- For TotalEnergies-operated assets (Ratawi Hub): Prepare and contribute to technical meetings with partners and authorities, presenting development activities when required.
- For OBO (Operated by Others) assets (Halfaya): Support asset management by attending technical committee meetings, reviewing reports, consolidating technical files, and providing feedback to headquarters (including quantified descriptions, schedules, costs, and innovation insights).
Development Studies (Under the supervision of the Senior Planning and Development Engineer)
- Identify development opportunities and contribute to technical proposals for optimizing affiliate-operated resources, including facility modifications and economic evaluations.
- Support the execution of technical studies for new projects, including Preliminary and Conceptual studies (delegated from HQ) and Pre-project studies.
- Assist in collecting basic data and defining the scope of work for development studies, outlining deliverables, schedules, and budgets.
- Participate in the validation process for new projects (both operated and OBO), including consolidating Field Development Plans and liaising with headquarters for final approvals.
- Oversee and contribute to the validation of studies conducted by HQ on behalf of the affiliate.
Accountabilities
- Support the continuous improvement of the affiliate’s planning and development strategy.
- Ensure the execution of development studies aligns with company standards.
- Provide necessary elements for business and asset management decisions regarding operated and OBO projects/assets.
- Safeguard the company’s interests as an operator.
- Ensure compliance with contractual obligations to the host country.
- Assist the Planning and Development Manager in coordinating Long-Term Plan/PRIME/Budget exercises.
Candidate Profile
Education & Experience
- Master’s degree (MSc) in Engineering.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in the upstream oil & gas sector.
- Experience in onshore and/or Middle East projects is a plus.
- Strong understanding of reservoir appraisal and asset development processes.
Skills & Competencies
- Excellent communication and presentation skills (both oral and written).
- Ability to summarize and articulate technical aspects clearly.
- Strong capacity to influence, convince, and facilitate decision-making processes.
- Well-organized, dynamic, and open-minded with strong leadership and teamwork capabilities.
- Ability to build effective cross-department relationships within TEEP Ratawi Hub and project teams.
Language Requirements
- Arabic: Native speaker
- English: Fluent
- French: Considered a major advantage
