The Air Terminal Passenger Assistant assists passengers with check-in and baggage handling on military and commercial fixed-wing/rotary aircraft. Ensures anti-hijacking briefings and inspections are conducted for all outbound passengers and baggage in accordance with the Transportation Safety Administration (TSA) and local laws. Monitors lost, mishandled baggage, provide general information about flight schedules and airport facilities. Safely transports passengers to and from aircraft. Assists with inbound passenger baggage claim and customs clearance procedures. The Air Terminal Passenger Assistant will actively support and uphold the Company's stated vision, mission, and values.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Follows all procedures in accordance with the Performance Work Statement (PWS), Sallyport Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Air Force Instructions (AFIs), Air Mobility Command Instructions (AMCIs) and Air Terminal Operations Manager objectives for all passenger service functions aboard all U.S. Military and contractor-controlled aircraft departing and arriving Balad Air Base.
- Assists passengers with the baggage check-in process.
- Coordinate with Iraqi Immigrations or any other Host Nation agency on all flight departure and arrival times.
- Check-in outbound passengers and baggage prior to flights.
- Complete accurate passenger manifests prior to aircraft departure.
- Screens all passengers and baggage (checked and hand carried) for prohibited items in accordance with TSA and local laws.
- Build and break down baggage pallets as required.
- Meets all inbound aircraft and safely deboard passengers.
- Assists arriving passengers through inbound Iraqi Immigrations and Customs inspections.
- Transports passengers to and from aircraft by bus.
- Performs lost and mishandled baggage functions as required.
- Perform maintenance of all vehicles, facilities and equipment required to support passenger service operations in accordance with site policies and directives.
- Maintains the inside and outside of the PAX terminal to include the sweeping and mopping of the floors.
- Provides support for other departments within the Air Terminal Operations area as required.
- Performs all other related duties as assigned by management
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Must have a valid Iraqi and Sallyport driver’s license.
- Must be able to complete airfield driving course and maintain an active airfield driver license.
- Have a basic knowledge of all Microsoft Office applications.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK CONDITIONS
- Must be able to read, write and speak English.
- Able to operate X-ray machines, magnetometers, hand-held wands, and automated data processing equipment.
- Able to operate passenger buses both standard and manual transmissions.
- Able to lift up to 55 pounds.
- Able to stand for extended periods of time and work in an austere environment.
