Responsibilities
- Procurement Management: Identify and assess suppliers for quality, price, delivery time, and overall suitability. Negotiate contracts, terms, and prices with vendors. Prepare and issue purchase orders. Maintain a robust procurement system for efficient tracking of orders and inventory.
- Vendor Relationships: Build and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors. Resolve any disputes or issues related to procurement. Monitor supplier performance to ensure quality, reliability, and timely delivery.
- Budget Management: Monitor and track procurement spending to ensure adherence to budgetary guidelines. Work closely with other departments to forecast purchasing needs and plan procurement budgets.
- Compliance & Documentation: Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies and legal requirements. Maintain accurate procurement records and documentation for audit and reference purposes.
- Market Research: Conduct market research to identify new suppliers, products, and opportunities for cost-saving. Stay updated on industry trends and market conditions to optimize procurement strategies.
- Inventory Management: Collaborate with the inventory team to ensure stock levels are optimized and replenishment is done in a timely manner. Help in managing the movement of materials between suppliers and internal departments.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
Experience: Proven experience (3 years) in procurement or a similar role.
Skills: Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills. Excellent organizational and time management abilities. Proficiency in procurement software and MS Office Suite. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Knowledge of procurement best practices, legal requirements, and market trends.
Preferred Skills
- Certifications (Preferred): Certification in Procurement/Supply Chain Management (e.g., CIPS or CPSM) is a plus.
