JOB SUMMARY
The Pavement / Spall Repair Technician Senior is responsible for the installation, field maintenance and repair of roadways, sidewalks, curbs, airstrips, and facility projects assigned. Responsible for mentoring a small team engaged in learning to perform tasks involved in pavement and spall repair. Work involves the skilled operation of various types of construction equipment, specialized hand and power tools utilized in the installation, maintenance, and repair of assigned pavement projects.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Able to saw-cut concrete, oversee jack hammer operations, and use related hand tools.
- Know how to use sealants, bag-concrete mixtures, and other applications.
- Must be able to assume standby responsibilities as assigned, up to and including working on nightshift or providing coverage during or due to shift changes.
- Will be required to maintain and operate sealant machines, crack chasing machines, concrete milling machines and paint striping equipment.
- Must possess some knowledge of preparation and delivery of, and placement of concrete via truck deliveries.
- Pavement / Spall Repair Technicians Senior perform spall repair on the airfield and other pavement repairs where needed throughout the installation.
- Able to provide professional mentorship to local national (LN) Spall Repair Technicians.
- Responsible for other duties assigned by management.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Required to have a valid driver’s license from home of record (HOR).
- Must have vocational or specialized training in pavement/spall repair.
- Have good people skills and are able to work as a member of a team.
- Have proficiency in time management.
- Have experience in working within and or around a military environment.
- Spall Repair Team members: must have previously held a flight line badge at a military installation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Having a high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
- A minimum of four years of experience in repairing spalls/airfield spalls is preferred.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK CONDITIONS
- Physical requirements may include lifting to 35 lbs., team lifting 50 lbs., climbing, extended sitting and standing, stooping, stretching, or bending.
- Individuals must be able to sit and concentrate for extended periods.
- Able to work in an environmentally extreme outdoor condition.
