Job Summary: The Cultural Associate plays a crucial role in promoting cultural exchange and understanding within the organization. This position involves engaging with Host Country Nationals (HCN) and assisting with various human resources tasks, such as recruitment, onboarding, and employee engagement initiatives. The Cultural Associate is also responsible for developing, implementing, and managing human resources programs, policies, processes, and procedures. Additionally, the role includes providing extensive HR-related support, with a strong emphasis on attention to detail, day-to-day administration, and follow-up on HR processes in a fast-paced international environment. Furthermore, the Cultural Associate will actively support and uphold the company’s vision, mission, and core values, contributing to a culture of safety, integrity, and excellence.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assists with tasks associated with talent management, including Job board/job postings, eligibility screening, resume bank, passenger terminal assistance, and in-processing actions
- Assists with tasks associated with HRIS management, to include Works with information technology and corporate HRIS to resolve problems, updating the HRIS system, and maintaining personnel e-files
- Assists with tasks associated with accountability and personnel reporting, including I-9 updates, SPOT form updates, PERSTAT reports, and miscellaneous reporting
- Assists with tasks associated with global mobility, including Process Paid Time Off (PTO)/Unpaid Time Off (UTO) requests, processing and managing travel requests, processing Ministry of Interior (MoI) letters, processing initial visa issues, processing visa renewals, coordinate registration cards and other miscellaneous government compliance requirements
- Assists with tasks associated with performance management, including managing initial expectations counseling program, managing evaluation submissions, managing training requirements, overseeing standards of conduct familiarization, and managing performance improvement programs
- Assists with tasks associated with employee relations, including Managing grievances and complaints program, process initial benefits submissions as well as updates, managing Base Defense Act (DBA) submissions, process and updating personnel changes (promotions, reassignment, salary, duty titles, etc.) in Workday (HRIS), process out-processing actions, accomplishes employee retention efforts, manages employee engagement activities, and accomplish miscellaneous HR-related customer service actions
- Respond and follow up on tasks related to corrective action notices and audit findings
- Identifies HR process gaps and develops policies and procedures to address those gaps
- Accomplish HR key performance indicator (KPI) data collection (including surveys) and submissions.
- Manage tasks associated with property accountability
- Accomplish miscellaneous HR-related administrative tasks not specified.
- Reports to the HR Business Partner team leader
- Other duties assigned by management
Qualifications:
- Minimum of one (1) year of international experience.
- BS/BA required. (In certain situations, relevant experience may be accepted in lieu of education). MBA/MSHRM preferred.
- General knowledge of HR policies and procedures.
- General knowledge of U.S. employment and labor law.
- General knowledge of HRIS systems (Workday experience a plus).
- Excellent verbal and written communication, consultation, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage a team and ensure high levels of productivity and performance.
- Strong organizational, planning, and problem-solving skills.
- Flexibility to work irregular hours.
- Advanced ability to handle multiple tasks and details in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Extremely flexible, with the ability to work through stressful situations professionally.
- Proficient with MS Office Suite.
- Technical skills, including proficiency in English and Arabic, with strong translation and interpretation abilities required.
- Possess a valid home of record driver’s license.
Physical Requirements and Work Conditions:
- Work involves sitting and standing for prolonged periods of time.
- May require bending, stooping, and lifting up to 15 lbs.
- Good eye and hand coordination is required.
- Constant use of sight, speech, hearing, frequent keying and use of computer and common office equipment required.
- The work location is in an extremely hot, austere, and potentially hostile environment.
