About KCIL
Kurdistan Center for International Law (KCIL) is a non-governmental, non-partisan, non-profit, and independent center with a primary focus on research and analysis of international law pertaining to Kurdistan’s communities. KCIL combines advocacy with legal analysis to protect, promote and fulfill the fundamental principles of international human rights law, international humanitarian law, and international criminal law in Kurdistan. The KCIL focuses on the study of law, conflict, peace strategies, survey and policy brief, KCIL aims to combine the theoretical and practical expertise of leading academics and policymakers to deliver strategic projects.
About PGM
Participatory Grant Making (PGM) is a way to give power back to the community by letting them decide what works best for their own needs. Instead of outsiders choosing where the money goes, the people most affected by the issues are included in the decision-making process. This helps ensure that funding supports locally decided real solutions, led by local voices, and builds stronger, more just communities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop detailed work plan and timeline for PGM activities.
- Organize and facilitate workshops where the participants/ groups identify key issues and priorities to address their initiatives.
- Deliver capacity-building workshops with inclusive tools and guidelines on topics like identifying key problems, and small project management.
- Facilitate PGM decision making processes where young people design their initiatives and decide how funds should be allocated.
- Ensure the process remains fair, transparent and democratic, with all voices heard and respected.
- Provide ongoing mentorship and technical support to participating groups.
- Collect and analyze data on participant progress and program outcomes and prepare regular reports.
Qualification & Preferred skills:
- University degree, preferably in social science, psychology, law, or relevant professions.
- Minimum 3 years of experience working in NGOs, especially with youth.
- Experience working with communities and at grassroots level.
- Experience in power shift, locally led and localization.
- Proactive, innovative, and capable of generating fresh ideas independently.
- Strong organizational, analytical skills, and attention to detail.
- Experience working on Excel and other Microsoft offices.
- Fluency in spoken and written English and Kurdish required, Arabic is an extra asset.
